                                                          Tag question

বর্ণনা বা বিবৃতি মুলক বাকের শেষে যে সংক্ষিপ্ত প্রশ্ন জুড়ে দেওয়া হয় তাকে tag question বলে।

Tag question –দু ভাবে সম্পূর্ণ হয়।

Affirmative tag

Negative tag.

Tag এর মধ্যে capital letter ব্যবহার করা যাবে না। শুধু Allah এর পরিবর্তে He এবং আমি অর্থে I . capital letter হবে।

বাক্যটি affirmative হলেtag হয় negative আর বাক্যটি negative হলে tag হবে affirmative.

Rules of tag question:

১। বাকের মধ্যে auxiliary verb থাকলে তার সাথে সংক্ষেপে not এবং subject নিতে হয়। [not থাকলে তা উঠে যায়। ]

Example:  He is a brilliant student, isn`t he?

২। বাকের মধ্যে auxiliary verb না থাকলে tense নির্ধারণ করতে হয়। present tense হলে do/does এবং past tense হলে did যোগ করতে হয়।

Example:  We learn English, don`t we?

They solved the problem, didn`t they?

                Sentence সম্পর্কে জানতে হলে আগে letter and word সম্পকে জানতে হবে।

Letter কি/ কাকে বলে?

ইংরেজিতে যে সকল সাংকেতিক চিহ্ন ব্যবহার করা হয় তাকে letter বা বর্ণ বলে।

যেমনঃ A, B, C, D

ইংরেজি বর্ণ মোট ২৬টি।এই ২৬ টি বর্ণকে একসাথে Alphabet বা বর্ণমালা বলে।

২৬টি বর্ণকে ২ ভাগে ভাগ করা যায়।যথাঃ

1. Vowel-৫টি ।  A,E,I,O,U

2. Consonant-২১টি।

একটি letter ও একটি word এর কাজ করতে পারে।যেমনঃ A-একটি,I-আমি।

Word –কি /কাকে বলে?

কয়েকটি letter বা বর্ণ পাশাপাশি বসে যদি কোন অর্থ প্রকাশ করে তাকে word বা শব্দ বলে।যেমনঃ

Pen-কলম

Man –মানুষ

Blue-নীল ।

Sentence-কি/কাকে বলে?

এক বা একাধিক ইংরেজি word grammar অনুযায়ী পাশাপাশি বসে যদি পরিপূর্ণভাবে মনের ভাব প্রকাশ করে তাকে sentence বলে।

Parts of speech –কি/কাকেবলে?

একটিবাক্যেরঅর্থপূর্ণপ্রত্যেকটিঅংশকেএকএকটি Parts of Speech বলে ।

Each meaningful part /word of a sentence is called parts of speech.

একটি বাক্য লক্ষ্য করলে বুজতে পারবেন।

He is a very brilliant student. এই বাক্যটিতে ৬ টি অংশ রয়েছে। প্রত্যেকটি অংশ এক একটি  Parts of Speech.

যেমনঃ He একটি Pronoun, IS একটি Verb, A একটি Adjective, Very একটি Adverb, brilliant ও একটি Adjective, Student একটি Noun.

Narration/speech- উক্তি

Narration/speech-কাকে  বলে?

বক্তার  statement  কে  Narration / Speech  বলে।

সহজ ভাবে  বলতে গেলে  বক্তা  যা  বলে  তাই  Narration.

Example:  Nazrul  said to  Ninja, ”You  are very polite”.

Kinds  of  Narration:

There  are two types of Narration.

1.        Direct narration-প্রত্যক্ষ উক্তি

2.        Indirect narration-পরোক্ষ উক্তি

                                              Rules of passage narration

প্রথমে সমস্ত passage টি ভালো ভাবে পড়তে হবে। কে কথা বলছে ও কে কথা শুনছে তা খুজে বের করতে হবে। একই বক্তা একসাথে কয়টা কথা বলল এবং সেগুলো কোন Sentence এ আছে তা নির্ধারণ করতে হবে।

একই বক্তা পর পর কয়েকটি কথা বললে এবং সেগুলো Assertive sentence হলে

প্রথমবার  said এর পরিবর্তে told/ replied

দ্বিতীয়বার  said এর পরিবর্তে added

তৃতীয়বার  said এর পরিবর্তে further added.

একই বক্তা পর পর কয়েকটি কথা বললে এবং সেগুলো Interrogative  sentence হলে

প্রথমবার  said এর পরিবর্তে asked

দ্বিতীয়বার  said এর পরিবর্তে again asked

তৃতীয়বার  said এর পরিবর্তে also again asked/ further again asked.
